Social Networking for Nonprofits

Dear Friends,

This year I have been introducing Nonprofits to using Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr) for a variety of purposes.  I have been a luncheon speaker for the Women in Development in Princeton, presented a new workshop sponsored by the Partnership in Philanthropy and spoke at a conference for grantees of the Prudential Foundation.  For this newsletter I am providing the links to my three recent blog articles about social networking for nonprofits.

Upcoming Social Networking Workshop

My hands-on social networking class will be offered in October at Raritan Valley Community College.  The date is not yet finalized.  If you would like to receive  an email announcement about the class, please let me know.

If you'd like to sponsor a workshop on strategic planning, board development, social networking or visionary leadership, please give me a call.

Great Resources - Interactive PDF Forms and Idealware Online Seminars

A new feature is available in Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Professional which allows you to make interactive pdf forms.  This is perfect for enabling online forms to be completed and submitted online.  If you have forms that are downloaded and filled out manually and then submitted via FAX, snail mail  or scanned and emailed then it is time to handle forms the 21st century way.  If you have forms that you would like to make in the interactive pdf format I recommend that you contact Marcy Garb at http://traininghelpdesk.com/  for a quick turnaround at a reasonable price.  Make sure Marcy knows you’re a nonprofit.

Idealware is offering a great set of online seminars this summer.  Topics include website analytics, broadcast email, content management systems and updating your website.  These excellent seminars are only $40 each.  Get all the details at http://idealware.org

Techsoup has a webinar on July 9th -  "Introduction to Social Media & Fundraising."  This webinar features two social networking for nonprofits gurus - John Haydon and Chris Garrett. Register at http://techsoup.org

On a Personal Note....I’m a Grandmother!

On June 5th my daughter delivered our first grandchild – Zachary Michael.  Wow! Fran, Josh and Zach live nearby so I have been basking in the pleasure of grandparenting nonstop for the last month. Visit my new blog - The Grandma Chronicles for all the details and pictures at http://grandmachroniclesblog.blogspot.com
