Board Retreats
I will help you design and plan your retreat. I enjoy facilitating Board Retreats and am skilled in all the upfront work that makes a Board Retreat successful. I will provide retreat components including lecture, board assessments, group activities, and facilitating questions for breakout groups. An annotated board retreat agenda is provided for the retreat leaders so that each leader can clearly see when they are responsible for part of the program and the time alloted.

Workshops
I conduct workshops in board development, strategic planning, visionary leadership and online giving and social networking. Additional related topics can also be presented. See my client list - many have sponsored my workshops for their constituents.
Strategic Planning
I specialize in strategic planning for small organizations. Although it is important for all nonprofits to do strategic planning, it can be difficult for smaller organizations with limited budgets. I offer a process appropriate for smaller nonprofits and the opportunity to contract for my services on a "modular" basis. You can decide which steps you will do on your own and which steps you would like my professional help with. This approach allows every size organization to be able to have professional assistance with their strategic planning.
Keynote Speaker
My services include Speaking - keynote, group meetings, etc. Speaking and facilitating an associated workshop at a conference can be offered together. You can request a specific topic to be considered. Recommended topics include social networking for nonprofits (very popular!), Nonprofits Partnering and Children and Philanthropy. Visit my blog to see articles I've written on these topics and more.
Hiring a Senior Executive
Many Boards do not have the expertise and/or time to conduct a professional search for a new Executive Director or other senior staff member. I am experienced in all phases of the search process including development of a job description, marketing the position, efficiently choosing which candidates to interview, conducting preliminary telephone interviews, providing guidance on in person interviews, assisting in having a smooth and efficient interview process, conducting reference checks and closing out correspondence with unselected candidates.
Hiring a new Executive Director/CEO is one of the most critical functions a Board is responsible for. It can make a huge difference in the future of your organization. It is well worth the investment in having professional help.
